I see there is a new Subaru TSB which states that all turbo Subaru vehicles from 2008 on should follow the severe duty service schedule!

seems a bit ludicrous to adjust clutch clearance and open your diffs every oil change...

differential oil only actually calls for 'inspection' not replacement (this may be for non-lsd AT models)

there are many different schedule for different model years you may want to quote where you pulled all that from

and, all new vehicles i've been looking at have a 7500km oil change interval...

This is pulled directly from the Subaru website.

It is also the same poster that is up in the service departments of the dealerships.

I am sure the specific maintenance schedule can be found in the owners manual but my guess based on the posts by the newbies no one bothers to read them.

There's an in-tank fuel filter? Is that the only one? I thought there was one in the engine bay.

Depends on the model year.

STi and new cars have the one in the tank, all other with filters in engine bay get done at 24K
